What’s Your Gift

That was the theme of the Great Gift Challenge, launched at our Building Church weekend at the end of January. Everyone was given an envelope with a special gift token. They present the person receiving them with an interesting way of giving - or receiving - a gift; one which should help to make life better for everyone. Every one is connected to a verse, or passage, from the Bible; some easy to understand, some maybe not so easy - but well worth reading in connection with the gift.

We asked people to complete a gift challenge each week - and you can still do this online! There are 21 altogether, making the complete St Andrew’s Gift Collection - and the aim is to complete all 21! There’s also, for the children, another complete set of 21. By an amazing coincidence (or is it?), 21 weeks from the launch of “What’s Your Gift?” was Sunday 27th June - our Junior Church Presentation Service.

Anyone completing the 21 challenges - kids or adults - was promised a special award. Several did - and were awarded €20! But that’s not all - at the Gift Service, we heard once again the Parable of the Talents, and were challenged to multiply what we’d been given!

There is, of course, a serious point to all this. It’s about practical Christianity. It’s about the difference we can all make, with a little more giving of time, talents and money. But it’s also fun. You can still get involved; all 21 challenges are still listed here:
