It seems that we have barely got over Christmas when we have to start preparing ourselves for Lent and Easter. The trouble with an early Easter - this year Easter Day is March 27th - is that we seem to rush from one festival to the next without much of a break for normal life. Because festivals are holidays and because we “do things” at festival/holiday times, both in church life and in our own lives, we’re extra busy and so not only do we lose the benefit of normal living, a sensible pace of life and time to reflect during the period of preparation for the festival, we lose the proper living of the festival as well.
